Monthly sponsored medical training in Nakuru, Kenya

Healthcare workers at maternity hospitals across the county are at an increased risk of infection from the Influenza virus because of their roles in direct patient care. Influenza can be life-threatening for vulnerable patients such as newborns and those who are immunocompromised. The World Health Organization has identified healthcare workers as one of the critical target groups for flu immunizations due to their increased exposure to viruses and the potential spread of the flu virus. Our training was held at Bondeni Maternity this month, where nurses, public health officers, and others learned the importance of vaccinating themselves, as well as how to sensitize and mobilize the community to get vaccinated as well. The training focused on virus transmission, prevention of infection, treatment and management of disease, and community health messaging.

Your support for our health projects continues to make a difference for healthcare workers and the communities they serve!
